100 Day Challenge: Explore & Discover



Are you up for the challenge?

10 Days x 10 Challenges = 100 Day to a Healthier You!


Congrats on making it to the end of Core Sport's 100 Day Challenge.  We hope you have picked up some new healthy habits to sprinkle into your daily life.  Remember to finish strong with our final challenge #10!

Challenge #10: Challenge yourself to try something NEW for the next 10 days! (August 8-17th)

Get adventurous and explore the world around you: 

  • Sample new foods or cuisine (Kumquat, eggplant, starfruit, sushi, falafel)
  • Plan a vacation to a new destination (LivingSocial has cheap escapes!)
  • Sign up for a race (5K, triathlon, relay, warrior dash!
  • Get active by surfing, trapeze class, dance lessons, glow golf, paint ball, Zumba, learn a new instrument
  • Change up your hair or nail color for the season
  • Volunteer
    We thank you for being part of our 100 Day Challenge and hope you enjoyed discovering a new you!  Remember: The small decisions you make today led to a lifetime full of happy, healthy experiences.

    100 Day Challenge: De-Stress & Eat Healthy

    Are you up for the challenge?      

    10 Days x 10 Challenges = 100 Day to a Healthier You!

    So far we are on challenge #9 of Core Sport's 100 Day Challenge.  We're in the final days of our challenge.  Make sure you are doing your homework:

    Challenge #8: Challenge yourself to DE-STRESS!  Take 10 minutes a day to find your  zen and enjoy the little moments in life. (July 19-28th)



    Ideas on how to find your inner peace:
    • Journal
    • Do a personal hobby
    • Take a yoga/fitness class
    • Massage/Foam roll
    • Self-reflect
    • Meditate (Free relaxation session)




    Challenge #9: Challenge yourself to get 10 servings of fruits and vegetables each day! (July 29th-August 7th)


    Attend your local farmer's market, grow your own, or know what's in season before you shop for the best selection.

    100 Day Challenge: Get Outside & Connected

    Are you up for the challenge?      

    10 Days x 10 Challenges = 100 Day to a Healthier You!

    So far we are on challenge #7 of Core Sport's 100 Day Challenge.  Here's some ones you might have missed:

    Challenge #6: Get outside for at least 10 minutes more per day! (June 29th-July 8th)


    Here's some ideas to get you in the great outdoors:

    • Eat a meal outside
    • Go for a walk/run
    • Go to the beach/pool/park/zoo
    • Shop at the Farmer's Market
    • Read your morning paper on the porch
    • Bike ride/play a sport/attend a concert



    Challenge #7: Stay in contact and bring yourself closer to friends and family for 10 minutes each day! (July 9th-18th)


    How to enrich your relationships and stay connected to those you love:

    • Meet for coffee
    • Call those who are far away on the phone/Skype
    • Take a walk together
    • Write a letter/email
    • Watch a TV show/movie together
    • Send a quick text to say "I'm thinking of you, have a great day!"

    Thank You: Open House Success!

    Thank you for making our 2011 Open House such a success!  We had a wonderful time mixing and mingling over beautiful Lululemon clothing, sampling Lunches by Lisa, trying on Stella & Dot jewelry,  learning about TraEva towels for fitness, and helping support the Haiti Orphan Rescue Program.  So far we have raised about $2,500!






    Not able to attend?  There is still time to make a donation to this wonderful cause.




    Don't forget about our final Pilates for a Purpose donation Mat class taught by Core Sport Owner Jamie White.  100% of funds raised will support the Haiti Orphan Rescue Program on Saturday, July 16th 2011 @3pm in the Kellogg Park of downtown Plymouth.  Register now and bring along your friends and family for a workout to support this great cause (all donations are tax deductible)!

    Pilates for a Purpose

    Love Pilates?  Looking to make a difference?  Join Core Sport in "Pilates for a Purpose" donation based Pilates Mat classes held throughout the summer.  

    All proceeds go to the Haiti Orphan Rescue Program.  
    There is a suggested tax deductable donation of $10/class.

    Fitness in the Park with Core Sport!

    100 Day Challenge: Eat Better & Get Active

    Are you up for the challenge?      


    10 Days x 10 Challenges = 100 Day to a Healthier You!


    So far we are on challenge #3 of Core Sport's 100 Day Challenge.  First let's recap our previous challenges for those who might be behind:


    Challenges #1: Eat 10 servings of vegetables each day for the next 10 days!


    Ideas to help you get more fiber and green into your diet:


    Challenge #2: Minimum 10 minutes of activity each day for 10 days!


    Ideas to help you go out and be more active:

    • Walk with family, friends or your dog(s).
    • Take the stairs or park further away
    • Try a new fitness class (Zumba, Bosu, Pilates, TRX, Bootcamp)
    • Play a sport (golf, volleyball, tennis, basketball, horseback riding, skating, biking, swimming, ect.)
    • Garden or do other household chores (yes, vacuuming counts)
    • Play a game (lawn darts, hide and seek, tag, croquet)
    • Go to the zoo, aquarium, or camping

    Challenge #3: Eat breakfast if you don’t currently. If you do, challenge yourself to eat small smart snacks every 2-3 hours for 10 days. (May 30th-June 8th)


    Ideas:

    • Hard boiled eggs (perfect to grab on the go)
    • Omelets (Athlete's Omelet)
    • Low-fat yogurt (stir in granola, fresh fruit or nuts)
    • Cheese/peanut butter & crackers
    • Banana or plum
    • Rice cakes & apple butter
    • Oatmeal (add honey, cinnamon, or dried fruit)
    • Smoothies (Cherry & Blackberry Smoothie)

    Walk, Run & Repeat


    Thanks to the Couch to 5K program , Core Sport is on its 3rd annual free running group!  This year as incentive there is a local YMCA race on the final week for participants to really put their skills to the test. 



    There is still time to attend the final weeks of the running group which meets on Sundays @7:15am at our Penniman studio.  Strollers and dogs are also welcome to join.  Remember to get in on the fun by volunteering or signing up for the Plymouth YMCA race on Father's Day (1 mile, 5K or 10K).  Core Sport will see you there!

    UP COMING EVENTS!!!!!

    Get ready for spring here at core sport pilates fitness studio.
    Here is a list of our FREE events coming up!!!!


    FREE Couch to 5k running group: Meet every Sunday at studio at 8:00am
    (unless raining heavily or snow) Starting April 19th
    This program is easy to follow and we helped a dozen people to do a 5k last year that never ran one before.

    Everyone is welcome, beginners to accomplished runners. We will be doing organized interval training running routine to get you ready for a 5k in 9 weeks time. We run together as a group and then we give you the runs to do the other 2 days a week. (some of our runners last week matched up with one another for these runs) See link below for the program. After the run everyone will be back at studio for organized stretching. Why not come and experience a jog around beautiful downtown Plymouth, MI.     FUN FAMILY FITNESS IN KELLOGG PARK (downtown Plymouth, MI):

    We will be doing organized fun family fitness for families and individuals of all ages and abilities. There will be different of types exercise with instruction on proper technique all while still having a great time.
    Were here to show you that you dont have to take time away from your family or go to the gym to get exercise and it can be FUN!!!
    Stick around afterwards in town to enjoy our great downtown breakfast establishments!!
    You do not have to be a client or resident to participate. Come from Northville, Canton, Novi, Westland, and Ann Arbor.

    Welcome to coresport pilates fitness studio

    Core sport is proud to announce a blog spot!!!! We will be posting blogs from all instructors updating information about different events happening at our studio as well as new information regarding workouts or specific exercises. Congrats to our Couch to 5 K group that completed thier first 5k last weekend.... WAY TO GO!!!! This is a free running/walking group on Sundays at 8 am.
